Fielding
Primary School and Nursery
Keep up to date with all the news happening in the school at the moment. Articles are added during the week. Parents are encouraged to check regularly. Our weekly bulletin, emailed directly to parents, summarises content for the week.
The PTFA will be hosting its regular parents meeting on Monday 29th April. We'll discuss upcoming events including the Circus, Summer Picnic and Summer Fair amongst other things.
Could we ask that at least one Class Rep from each class attend one of these meetings as the next three months will be our busiest and we need all the help we can get!
The meeting will be repeated twice during the day (once in the morning with Mr Dunmall, and again in the evening) to allow as many parents/carers to participate.
The morning meeting is in the school house after morning drop off (9.00am) and the evening meeting on the same day, also in the school house at 8.30pm.
All parents are welcome to join us at one of these meetings and it would be great to see as many of you as possible.
The morning meeting is accompanied by tea and coffee. The evening meeting is accompanied by a glass of wine and it would be great for parents to stay for a drink or two after the meeting. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents especially if you are new to the school. We look forward to seeing you there!
Minutes for the last meeting can be found at: http://www.fieldingprimary.com/ptfa/

Here is the cooking timetable for Summer 1. Children are looking forward to using ingredients from the garden to create their recipes.
Please remember to dress appropriately, particularly in the hot weather.
The book fair will close at the end of day on Wednesday 1st May. Children will have been provided with a Book Fair leaflet today or tomorrow which advertises the various books on offer.
Important: Please ensure that you have the exact money to purchase books as no change can be provided.
Many thanks

Fielding received 509 applications for admission to our Reception classes in September 2019. Of these, 191 applicants chose Fielding as their first preference school.
As part of the pan London admission arrangements, offers for our 120 Reception class places have been made to parents.
Nearly half of children offered a place at Fielding already have a brother or sister at the school. The remaining places were allocated according to distance criteria with the last offer being made to a child living just 0.31 miles from the school, slightly closer compared to last year. 86 offers have been made to children who attend our own Nursery, although admission to Nursery does not result in an automatic offer for Reception.
Ealing Council, the admissions authority for Fielding, is operating a waiting list system for 87 children who have been offered a school place elsewhere but have placed Fielding as a higher preference school.
Parents who applied to Fielding this year highlighted:
Parents must now accept or decline the offer by 30th April.

The terms and conditions for instrumental tuition on our website have been updated and these will take effect from the start of next term (Tuesday 23rd April) so please familiarise yourself with them. Click here to view them. If your child is enrolled in lessons in the Summer term they will be automatically enrolled for September (with the exception of Year 6). If you wish to cancel lessons in September a cancellation form must be downloaded from our website and submitted by Friday 17th May 2019. If you are interested in your child starting instrumental tuition please see our website for details of what we offer and submit a waiting list request form by Friday May 17th 2019.
Year 5 and 6 squad selection will be held on the first Wednesday (24th April) back after Easter on the school field at 7.45am. We are selecting squads for the boys cricket team and the girls cricket team. The session will end at 8.45am at which point children will go to class. An announcement to say which children have been selected will take place later in that week. Get practising over Easter and see you when we get back.
Through a multi-camera rig format (similar to One Born Every Minute and Super Vet), the programme will explore the relationships and interactions between dogs and people. They will be following the stories of the rescue dogs looking to be rehomed at Wood Green, but also the stories of the potential owners coming in and understand their reasons for wanting a dog at that point in their lives.
