Each session includes a meal which is served in the nursery. Children sit at a table and eat together to develop their social skills and use cutlery to develop their motor skills. Each group of children is supported by a member of the nursery staff. The whole school has “family style dining” as research shows there are developmental benefits to children of all ages of this style of eating.
Meals are prepared daily from fresh ingredients in the school kitchen by our school caterers. There is a three week menu cycle ensuring that all government dietary requirements for schools are met. Children with a range of allergies are catered for and where possible are given a meal which is similar to the standard menu. If your child has allergies or other dietary needs parents will be offered the opportunity to meet with the school catering team to discuss these in detail.
Meals and other resources are not included in the government Funding allocation.
