Year 3 Badminton Festival

Yesterday the following children were selected to have the opportunities to learn how to play Badminton: Sami M (3H), Myles M (3H), Lara (3H), Heath (3S) , Jasmine (3S), Cole (3P), Marie (3P), Margot (3P).

There were 8 different activity zones that they participated in:

  1. Egg baskets – hitting shuttlecocks into a hula hoop

  2. Switch – transferring shuttlecocks between cones

  3. Catch the Bird - throwing the shuttlecocks over a bench to a partner

  4. Caterpillars – passed fluff balls down the line to their partner using a racket. The children also learnt how to use a double-handed and single-handed grip.

  5. Backhand tap-ups – using a backhand grip to hit a fluff ball in the air as many times as they could

  6. Badders Baseball – feeding shuttlecocks to be hit to their partner and trying to the return shot

  7. Ready Steady Throw – children were given a giant shuttlecock and they had to throw it as far as they could

  8. Shooting Stars – hit the shuttlecock as far as they could

Well done for displaying the school values of resilience by trying a new sport and respecting your peers!
