Today Fielding Primary School were given the opportunity to play in a FIFA World Cup Football Tournament run by the Featherstone Sports Partnership. The Performance squad were representing Poland and the Development squad were representing Saudi Arabia.

There were a total of 20 schools who entered the tournament.

Our school teams were both in Group C:

• Brazil (Featherstone)
• Argentina (Dormers Wells)
• Mexico (St Johns)
• Poland (Performance)
• Saudi Arabia (Development)

A special mention to our goal scorers from the tournament:

Theo (6S) x 3 goals

Ahmed (5F) x 2 goals 

Tem (5F) x 3 goals 

Gioele (6F) x 2 goals 

Noah (6F) x 1 goal

Reuben (6H) x 1 goal 

The Performance team (Poland) won all their games and made it into the quarter finals and ended up playing the Development team (Saudi Arabia). Poland won 1-0!

Due to the Performance team (Poland) great victory against Saudi Arabia. They had now made it into the Semi Finals against St Marks (France) and through excellent attack and defence they won 1-0 with a last-minute goal just before full time.

In the grand finale the Performance team played against Selbourne Gold (England). The boys’ started off the game nervous but quickly settled and ended up winning 1-0. Therefore, Fielding Primary school (Poland) were crowned tournament winners!

Fielding Performance Squad came 1st place!!!
