2nd Place for the Year 5 & 6 Girls Cricket!

Today Years 5 & 6 Girls' participated in a Cricket Tournament with 6 local schools. Little Ealing, Acton Gardens, Selboune, Lady Margaret, St Marks and West Acton.

For this competition, every school started off with 200 runs.

If the opposing team take a wicket 5 runs will be deducted from the total score.

Our first game was against Lady Margaret and the girls were nervous. We started off bowling wide which made the score line difficult to chase as 2 runs are awarded from every wide or NO ball. Unfortunately, we did not win this game with the final score of 251 runs to Lady Margaret and 246 runs to Fielding.

Having played one game, Fielding were prepared when they played St Marks. The girls really improved their bowling to avoid awarding extra runs to the opposition. Martha (6H) score a hattrick when taking wickets and also hit quite a few boundaries. Flo H (6H) also scored two sixes and two fours which boosted our run rate. At the end of the game, Fielding won 272 runs and St Marks scored 213 runs as the girls got quite a few wickets.

As a result of scoring a total of 518 runs across two games, we finished top of our group and were given a by straight into the semi-final.

In the Semi-final we played Acton Gardens which meant we were through to the finals against Little Ealing. Who unfortunately beat us!

Well done to the Girls for coming 2nd Place!

A special thanks to...

Lyla (6H), Flo H (6H), Martha (6H), Annabelle (6H), Lana (6F), Emma (6F), Evie (6S) Ella (5F), Lottie (5S), Flo G (5S)
