Today the Fielding girls’ team had two new players from the development team Anouk (6P) and Avaani (6F) play their debut in the performance team. The girls agreed as they were undefeated the teams’ formations would remain the same. Before the match began girls were instructed to take their time and not panic when clearing the ball and look for options. They were also told to press from the goal kick to put Hobbayne under pressure.  The game started with the girls passing the ball well and driving forward in attack. The girls managed to get an early goal by Flo G (5S) which helped build momentum.  With a confidence injection, the girls started firing balls towards Hobbayne goalkeeper which resulted in Emma (6F) scoring her first goal in the game. Flo G (5S) was now standing in the corner spot and curled the ball and it deflected off the goalkeeper and into the back of the net. She was now on fire and unbeatable as she skilled up the defence and drove forward to score her hat trick. The defence was tight and the girls at the back Anya (6F), Emma (6F), Anouk (6P) and Martha (6H), all communicated well and made some great interceptions to ensure it was a goalless first half. At half-time, the score was 3-0.

 

Going into the second half changes to the team were made Avaani (6F) Lyla (6H), Flo H (6H), Adelaide(5S), and Evie (6S) all came on and worked well the drive the ball forward but were unfortunately unable to get the ball past the goalkeeper. Then one final change was made, and Ruth (6P) was brought on within minutes she scored two goals straight past the keeper.  Finally, Flo G (5S) sealed the deal by striking the last goal of the game to secure our victory. Resulting in a 7-0 victory!

Well done to Lana who maintained a clean sheet and did not concede any goals.
