British Council International School Award gained

The British Council has re-accredited the school's International School Award until 31st August 2020, with an exceptional feedback report, reflecting Mrs Mahvelati and the school's excellent work.

"This is а outstanding application from Fielding Primary School which meets the requirements for International School Awards Reaccreditation. There is much to highlight in the activities of this very large London primary which emphasises value-based education aims “to increase quality and progression across non-core subjects”. Its overall excellence was recognized by Ofsted in 2017. The school was praised for “ensuring that pupils learn about faiths and cultures other than their own and gain skills and knowledge that enable them to be well prepared for life in modern Britain”. The assessor was particularly impressed by two aspects of the application. Most of the topics were based on a question e.g. Why do people visit the Mediterranean on holiday? What’s so special about the USA? Why is the Amazon Rainforest so important to Brazil? What is our school made from? The latter provided а link with the Mandali Project and post-earthquake reconstruction in Nepal, and inspired a story “The Three Little Yacks and the Big Bad Earthquake”. How do French children spend their lunchtime? used the link with Ombrosa Lycée Multilingue de Lyon, while Where do the wheels on the bus go? developed comparisons with the Punjabi partner. It was good to see comments from teachers in the Impact Evaluation section e.g. 'It has made teachers more enthusiastic and curious about the topic', both at Fielding and the link schools but perhaps one or two brief remarks from pupils might also have been included. The community section was second stand-out area. This is probably the best international section in a school website that this experienced assessor has seen because of the detail and depth displayed on http://www.fieldingprimary.com/around-the-world/ . Not only was the website inspiring, but it was marvellous to see that it was achieving a goodly number of hits which the school is recording. Overall, the only improvement which could be made for the next Reaccreditation would be аn expansion of the very sparse information about the partner schools, their context and perhaps previous activities. It was a privilege and joy to be able to assess such a marvellous application. Bravo!"
