COVID-19. Rising cases in years 4, 5 & 6

Pupil cases of COVID are rising in classes 6F (Miss Stabler), 5S (Miss Watson), 4H (Miss Whaley). From last weekend and through this week:

  • 6 confirmed cases are reported in class 6F,
  • 6 confirmed cases in class 5S and
  • 5 confirmed cases in 4H.

Some of these pupils have shown no symptoms at all but have taken a COVID test after being identified as a close contact. Others have been unwell with no recognised COVID symptoms.

If your child has any symptoms of COVID, please err on the side of caution:

  • keep your child at home;
  • take a PCR test;
  • if the PCR test result is negative, return to school straight away;
  • if the PCR test is positive, continue to self-isolate.

In school, whole school assemblies in the halls were due to restart this week. We are postponing these large group gatherings to reduce the risk of infection. Adults continue to socially distance from one another and pupils.

We will continue to monitor the number of confirmed cases and take advice from Public Health England, if needed. Sending classes home to self-isolate is a last resort according to current government guidance.
