Feedback on curriculum and homework from our parents

120 parents attend the second in our series of information sessions.

"These sessions provide a great opportunity to hear from our parent community about what we are doing well and how we can continue to improve," commented Peter Dunmall, Headteacher.

Today's sessions provided information to parents on our unique curriculum and home learning aims and routines. During the sessions Assistant Headteachers Clair Biedul and Laura Stabler explained the key elements of the Fielding Learning Challenge Curriculum and  the aims of our home learning policy, "We know it is not the finished article yet," explained Laura Stabler, "Our home learning policy is new this year, especially the creative homework element, we are currently trialling new systems."

Parents told us that they enjoyed the creative homework, but would like more clarity around expectations. They also told us that they welcomed the more robust procedures for checking their children were reading at home and the focus on spelling but would welcome more feedback from class teachers. There were mixed views about the on-line learning platforms, Mathletics and Bug Club.

If you did not attend either of the sessions but would like to feedback to us on your experiences of home learning or the curriculum, please email us at admin@fielding.ealing.sch.uk by Friday 4th December.

"Following the feedback from today's sessions and any further feedback we receive we will look at what is working well and what needs to be adapted. We will share this information with parents in advance of any changes we make." explained Clare Haines, Deputy Head.
