Gifts to members of staff are never expected and should not be asked for. However, parents often want to show their thanks to a member of staff at this time of year. Gifts continue to be welcome but we must remain COVID-safe to minimise the risk of coronavirus infection. This year:

• e-gift vouchers are preferred,
• avoid presents and giving things because we want to prevent any infection being passed on to staff through surfaces.  If a present is given, staff will quarantine the item for 72 hours.

 

Teachers typically give each pupil in their class a small gift. This year I have told them that this cannot happen because I do not want to risk any infection in school being transferred to your homes. Teachers might talk to their classes about donating to a chosen charity instead. This feels mean and miserable at this time of year - I am sorry!
