Nominations sought

The Governing Body is seeking nominations from parents to fill two vacancies of parent governor positions. Parent governors are appointment for a period of 4 years.  The term of office for two parents, Jules Fitzgerald and Lindsey Doyle, ends in December. The Governing Body holds school leaders to account, providing support and challenge whilst setting the strategic direction of the school.  Parent governors attend full governing body meetings which are usually held 4 times a year in the evening and will become a member of at least one committee which meets twice every term, typically alternating breakfast and evening meetings.  Governors also visit the school during the day, ideally once or twice a term, to gain first-hand knowledge of the school.  Find out more about the role of a school governors and the skills required:

Every governor is not required to have competence in every skill.

If you wish to be nominated or nominate another parent, please print the Nomination Form by Friday 29th September 2017 and return to the school office box in the main reception. Electronic nominations or emails will NOT be accepted. If more nominations are received than vacancies available, then a ballot will be organised to select the two new governors. Please check you are eligible to nominate or be nominated as a Parent Governor, Election of Parent Governors.

All governors are subject to an enhanced check by the Criminal Records Bureau and other suitability checks, including providing 

an enhanced DBS certificate.
