Current government guidance to schools prevents overnight, residential school trips as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

All of our residential trips for Years 3,4,5 & 6 take place during the summer term with planning and preparation from the year before. We want to take a cautious but optimistic approach:

• Year 3, Camp-out on the field and bush-craft activities. We have made a provisional booking for 10-11 June 2021. Please hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £49. Perhaps start setting aside some money now.
• Year 4, Museum of London sleep-over. Museums have suspended their programmes. No known dates. Estimated cost, £84. Perhaps start setting aside some money now. We will contact you when we know more.
• Year 5, Action and adventure weekend at PGL Little Canada, Isle of Wight. We have made a provisional booking for 14-17 May 2021. Please hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £265 per pupil. Perhaps start setting aside some money now.
• Year 6, France. We think international travel is unlikely and poses too much uncertainty for schools. Our contingency plan is to offer Year 6 pupils their own weekend of action and adventure at PGL Little Canada, Isle of Wight (to replace the visit they missed at the end of Year 5). We have made a provisional booking for 2-5 July 2021. Please hold the date. We will ask you for a deposit and final payment if we confirm the booking. Estimated cost, £265 per pupil. Perhaps start setting aside some money now.

Our over-arching aims include offering our pupils as much of our curriculum offer as we possibly can. Even if the government lifts restrictions, we will not offer these trips unless we are satisfied that we can manage and control risks associated with coronavirus. We will write to you again as and when we know more.

We are unlikely to offer or ask you for staggered payments or a payment plan for these trips. Please make your own budget plans and be ready to make deposit and final payments to us, even at short-notice, so that your child does not miss out. Estimated costs may change if our providers increase their charges.
