School meal debt is rising because some parents are not paying before pupils eat a school meal. This is unusual for Fielding parents and pupils.

School meal debt is high in many other schools. It has never been a problem here. We need your help because:

• I do not want families to owe large amounts and struggle to pay their bill;
• The school has to pay half of any school meal debts to the caterer at the end of the year. This is a waste of money that should be spent on pupils.

If school meals are not paid in advance or there is money owing then we will contact parents by phone and email to check, help and offer support over the next few weeks.

If debts continue, we will then stop serving pupils a school meal. We will contact you on the day and ask you to provide a packed lunch for your child.

Avoid school meal debts by:

1. Creating an account with Feeding Hungry Minds. If your child eats a school meal you need an account.
2. Turn on the automatic top-up function so that the account never runs out of money.
