Safeguarding Pupils - Government Prevent Strategy

Schools have a duty to prevent radicalisation and extremism

In July 2015 the duty was placed on schools to safeguard pupils from the threat of being drawn into extremism. This means we have a duty to protect pupils from violent extremist views in the same way we safeguard them from the harm of violence and abuse.

"Different schools will apply the prevent strategy in different ways," explained Mrs Haines, Deputy Head. "At Fielding we follow a Values-based education, teaching the British values of to tolerance and respect, this teaches our pupils some of the skills they need to keep themselves safe both now and in the future."
