Around 250 Fielding pupils so far will take part in a government study to try and find out how many children have had COVID-19 in the past.

If you have not yet signed up and would like to help by letting your child take part, please:

1. Go to https://studies.ons.gov.uk/s/1HT6LR/
2. Read the information about the study and what it means for your child and your family, sent to you by email around 21 October.
3. Complete and submit the online consent form and short questionnaire. Your child will be enrolled in the study when the consent form and questionnaire is completed and submitted.

The research team will visit the school on 16, 17 November to take saliva swabs from children's mouths. Pupils will only take part if parents have agreed for them to take part. Children will rub a small sponge into their mouths for two minutes, like brushing their teeth. The researchers will then use this to see how many children have had coronavirus before. This information will help the government make plans.

Nursery age children are not taking part in this study. The study is not organised or managed by Fielding. There is no need to tell us whether your child is or is not taking part.
