For 23 years, the PTFA has had a proud history of supporting Fielding primary school. Our active and hardworking group of parents have worked tirelessly, and with your support we have raised a record £35,797, this year, which has helped pay for the fantastic improvements to the playground area. Many of our dedicated members need to step back and cannot give as much time and energy as they have done over the last year. Unfortunately, there are serious concerns, that there may not be enough new parents to continue their hard work. We really appreciate all the parents who help out on the day of an event, but we have very few who offer to help behind the scenes to ensure the events happen. The PTFA committee also have jobs, children, busy lives and we need help. Fielding Primary School has over 900 pupils and we know that our parents care deeply about the school. Repeatedly we hear parents say how much they value the 'community feel' of the school and we feel a significant part of that community spirit comes from the events organised by the PTFA.

However, sadly very few parents attend our PTFA meetings or historically our AGM. If children are to continue to benefit from the substantial funds raised by the PTFA we must have more support.

The school has some fantastic ideas as to how they can use any money we raise over the next year. The most exciting, being to develop some of our outside space into an allotment. We know there are parents that work full or part-time and have considerable constraints on their time, but even a small amount of time or help would be beneficial. 

Our AGM is this Monday, the 2nd October, in the school hall at 7.30 pm. There will be wine and nibbles and it is a great opportunity for us to welcome new parents to the school. We will discuss the future of our PTFA and will need to ensure that we have a well supported committee going forward. It is vital that the PTFA becomes sustainable, so it can continue to be successful in its aims and we would like as many parents as possible to be involved in these discussions.
