Value of Democracy in action this week - new star leaders announced
Year 5 Star Leader hustings and elections
This week, children across the school took part in the democratic elections for next year’s Star Leaders. The Year 5 pupils, hoping to be elected, lead virtual hustings for their class letter, where they explained why they thought they would be a good candidate for the role of Star Leader based on the job description of the role. Children in each class then voted for the children they wanted to be the Star Leader for each of the constellations. The votes were then added together and we now have a Star Leader for each constellation in each of the 4 classes (16 in total). The children with the second highest amount of votes are now the Deputy Star Leaders (16 in total).
All of the Year 5 children taking part in the hustings were very prepared and very brave to talk live to classes across the school. All of the candidates are wonderful role models for other pupils, showing a wide range of our school Values. We also want to congratulate those elected into their new leadership roles.
Please see the list of our elected leaders below. These children will start their new roles in September.
