Year 4 Norman Day

Vive la Normans!

The time has come. All peasants, surfs, farmers, merchants, artisans, knights, vassals, nobles and lords, your presence is required at this year’s Norman Day! The day’s activities will consist of all things Norman, including, French lessons, castle building, and an epic battle re-enactment culminating in one massive mannequin challenge. You must attend the day’s festivities in full costume and be ready to bounce in a castle for the King’s enjoyment. Please be prepared to declare all of your possessions for King Dunmall’s Doomsday 2 Survey.

With a curious view towards the approaching end of winter, Year 4 has been warming up February by studying to process of melting. Working scientifically, they have planned and carried out investigations into various states of matter and discovered that fat separates from water and chocolate can be enjoyed as a liquid and a solid!

As part of our staying safe PSHE unit we have been discussing E safety again and would like to remind everyone of the risks associated with social media usage and internet access across all devices, including gaming consoles. Remember to check the NSPCC website for a review of most of the popular apps being used today if you are unsure. Finally, road safety has concluded with Ms Timmins’ fabulous rendition of the Safe Cross Code song which all the children absolutely loved. Perhaps they could perform the dance routine for you this half term?? Have a safe and happy half term!
