Funds needed after audit condemns 80% of school books
Reading and fostering a passion for books is the most powerful gift we can give a child. So, behind the scenes, the school requested an audit by independent librarians over the summer holidays to review our library stock. Shockingly, 80 percent of stock was said to be out-of-date or unsuitable.
As a result, the school has invested time and money (£40,000) in updating our school book stock over the summer, which hopefully you will have noticed coming home in your children's book bags.
To support this, Fielding PTFA set up a fund to raise money to buy books for the school. We are halfway to our target, so please help us to continue to keep relevant and interesting books, that inspire and spark joy in our children in the love of reading, by supporting the school in this. Any donation, however big or small, will help:
📚 Donate money using the online link http://www.bit.ly/FieldingRecommendedReading
📚 Purchase a book from the reading list from any good book retailer and drop it into the school office.
📚 If you have any books from the reading list at home that you wish to donate, also drop them off at the school office.
The recommended reading list by year group is available at http://www.fieldingprimary.com/library-books-wish-list/
