What will your child be learning this year at school?

Our curriculum is designed so that pupils develop their knowledge and skills in each of the National Curriculum subjects. Alongside this we intend for our pupils to learn about the concepts of:

  • good health;
  • climate;
  • infrastructure;
  • democracy;
  • equality;
  • innovation;
  • sustainability.

These 'Golden Threads' and our 4 core values are weaved through the children's learning. The Golden Threads have been updated for this year, each one is based on at least  one of the UN sustainable development goals.

As well as regular updates on each year group noticeboard about English and mathematics, you  can also find out what your child is learning in other subjects and where the Golden Threads fit in, by looking at our curriculum maps:

(Please note, these documents are  saved in .pdf format. They are A0 in size and not intended for printing. You will need to download and zoom). These have been updated for this academic year. We will continue to update and refine them as children move through the school, gaining more skills and knowledge.

Each year group has a yearly overview which maps out what will be taught when. The must-know knowledge and skills for each 'learning challenge' is carefully mapped out on our knowledge organisers.

Later on today (Friday 3rd), you will be able to find the updated overviews and knowledge organisers for your child's year group here:
