The Girls Performance Team delivered an outstanding performance in their quarter- final match against John Perryn, winning 7-1 and securing a place in the semi- finals!

 

The match began with an unexpected early setback, as the team conceded a goal in the opening minute. However, this only seemed to fuel the players' determination, as they quickly recovered and began to show their true strength. An impressive goal from Coco (6P) levelled up the scoresheet, and thereafter, there was no looking back.

 

Entering the second half at 1-1, the girls were determined to win. After a short period of relentless attacking and showcasing their excellent teamwork and technical ability, Qamara (6S) quickly added another goal to the scoresheet. Goals then became thick and fast, with each player contributing to the outstanding score line. The team's offensive prowess was evident throughout, with assists from Daisy (6P) and Elyssia (6P), to support Coco and Qamara to score again and again.

 

Needless to say, our defensive play was equally as impressive. Miral (6H), Alice (6S), Lois (6P) and Izzie (6S) demonstrated exceptional discipline and awareness throughout the game, making it a challenge for our opposition to break through. With only a couple of minutes before the final whistle, the opposition took one final attempt at goal. Displaying remarkable reflexes and agility, our goalkeeper Alice (5P) deflected a close range shot with her outstretched boot, causing the side line to erupt in celebration.

 

By the final whistle, the score line stood at an impressive 7-1, securing the team's place in the semi- finals due to their confident and united performance. A special thank you to Martina (6S) who unfortunately was unable to participate due to a sports injury, but made sure her team were kept cool and hydrated throughout the match.

 

We now eagerly await confirmation on which team we will come face to face with in the semi- finals!
