Today the Year 5 & 6 Girls Performance team played their third game of the Ealing Girls Cup against St Joseph’s Primary.

 

You could tell from the start there was a charged atmosphere as the girls were dominating possession. Qamara (5S), Coco (5P) and Flo G (6S) were all playing at the top and played some excellent one- two passes which resulted in Flo G (6S) scoring x 5 goals, Qamara (5S) scoring x 4 goals and finally Coco (5P) scoring x 1 goal. Not only were the attack amazing we had a solid defense that did not let a single ball get to the goalkeeper.

 

We were all holding our breath when a penalty was awarded to St Josephs for a handball, but our brilliant goalkeeper Adeliade (6S) maintained a clean sheet by saving the powerful penalty shot.  She made several excellent saves when St Josephs tried to score from long range. It was clear that today the girls established their authority, swiftly controlling possession and dictating the tempo of the game.

Our defense Emily (6S), Daisy (5P), Lois (5P), Martina (5S), Alice (5S) and Darcy (6P) were all a lot more composed when clearing the ball, they showed control on the ball compared to previous games. There were some excellent tackles and interceptions which made it very difficult for St Josephs to score.

 

At the final whistle, with a remarkable score line of 10 – 0, they showcased not only their individual talents but also their unity as a team, leaving an indelible mark of their prowess in the realm of girls' football.
