1st Place Year 5 & 6 Girls Football Tournament
Fielding entered two teams in the Featherstone Partnership Girls Football Tournament. There was a performance squad and a development squad. In this tournament, positions were selected tactically to play to our strengths as a team.

This result meant that Fielding Performance was now through to the Semi-Finals! Tensions were high but the girls played with confidence. They dominated possession and made some great passes to our strikers.

The girls were delighted as they made it into the grand final against our local rival Little Ealing. During the full time the score was 0-0. 5 mins of extra time was added, and the girls were reminded they needed to play with confidence just like they had done the entire tournament. This game was no different regardless of if it was the final. Suddenly, Fielding girls started pressing and putting Little Ealing’s goalkeeper under pressure. Flo (6H) managed to intercept the goalkeeper's pass and score the first goal of the game, reducing the pressure. The girls knew they needed to keep their heads up as there was still time left on the clock. Then Flo G (5S) scored a blinder from out of the box in the top right corner of the net. This sealed the deal and resulted in us becoming champions of the tournament.

Congratulations to the Performance Squad who came 1st Place in the tournament, which means they have been selected to represent Ealing in the borough finals. If we win the borough finals, we will then go on to play in the London Heathrow Youth Games.

This tournament proved to be a great challenge for the development squad and the team improved in every game the girls as a team showed such resilience!
