2nd Place for Year 4 Boys Football team

Today Fielding took 10 boys from Year 4 to play in a local Ealing Cluster tournament.

Nerves were high when the fixture list had been released as we knew we were playing local rival Little Ealing. Initially, the defence kept tight but no goals had been scored so they were encouraged to press forward. Unfortunately, diving in too early and leaving the goalkeeper exposed cost us our first game. The boys remained confident and communicated much better in defence for our second game against St Marks. The game was neck and neck and St Marks scored the first goal. Followed by an equaliser by Tommi (4P). Fielding kept the majority of the possession in the game and were putting St Marks under pressure. A few shots were fired but didn’t make it to the back of the net when suddenly Rory (4S) scored our second goal. Unfortunately, the last minute of the game resulted in the game being a draw. The boys’ held their heads high and grew in confidence as they learned to play together as a team. The third game was against Mount Carmel who scored the first goal which was immediately followed up by an equaliser by Arlo. Resulting in the score of 1-1. Then with a few minutes left of the game, Arlo took a shot that deflected from one of the players. Oaklands was our last game and they had been watching us play. They played very tight in defence which made it difficult to score past them. Eventually, Joesph (4P) managed to score an absolute blinder from the halfway line. This meant Fielding won 2-1 against Oaklands.

Well done to Rohan (4P) and Tommi (4P) who both shared the position of goalkeeper.
