3-1 Victory for PEAL Shield (Boys') Year 5 & 6 Quarter Finals

On Friday 24th March the Year 5 & 6 Boys' Performance  Football team played against St Gregory's for the PEAL Shield competition. The boys were concerned that it would be a challenging game as St Gregory's were the winners of Group D.

As the game started it was intense because St Gregory's were on the attack and managed to score an early goal. This meant we were now 1-0 down. Before the match in our team talk, we predicted this might be the case and had a game plan in place for the counterattack. Changes amongst the team were made and Noah (6F) crossed a beautiful ball to Ahmed (5F) who scored the first goal. This goal instilled hope in the team and restored the team's spirits.  We were now level 1-1. Ahmed (5F) adopted the same strategy Noah (6F) used and assisted Theo (6S) scoring our second goal and now putting us in the lead. We knew we were not safe and needed to secure the victory by scoring another goal. Noah (6F) once again crossed the ball to Ahmed (5F) who smashed the ball into the back of the net and took St Gregory's goalkeeper by surprise.  Consequently, Fielding finished the match winning 3-1! We are now through to the semi-finals so watch this space!

Special thanks to all the boys that played:

Oscar (5P), Jordi (6S), Sev (5S), Gioele (6F), Reuben (6S), Ahmed (5F), Tem (5F), Ishaaq (6F), Aiden (6F), Theo(6S) and Noah (6F)
