All fun and games! Focus on online safety & virtual parent event

Tuesday 8 February has been highlighted by many internet safety organisations as online safety day. For us we have a focus on this throughout the whole school year both in our computing and relationship education lessons. More details here:

Throughout next week will will be focusing on the theme of 'All fun & games'. In Monday's whole school live assembly I will be talking to pupils about the risks of using in-game chat and how children can keep themselves safe.

You can log into the assembly at 9.10am using this link (using your child's Microsoft Teams account):

During next week teachers will be focusing on different aspects of online learning depending on the age of your child. In Reception, Years 1 and 2, children will be learning about why it is important not to get undressed in front of a camera. In Years 3, 4 ,5 and 6 pupils will be hearing more about the risks of in-game chat, live streaming and social media.

You might want to take a look at some of the resources we will be using:

There are also some great resources that the Nursery team will dip into here.

The organisation Parent Zone are hosting a live virtual parent event, 'Your Guide to Gaming' that you can join from 4.30pm -5pm on the 8th February.

No time to join or the time doesn't work for you? Take a look at these resources produced by LGFL Digisafe just for parents

We also have lots of links you mind find useful on our online safety page:
