Healthy Fielding, snacks and lunchboxes

Working with parents to continue the good work

In the summer term we were very proud to have received the Gold Healthy School Quality Mark in recognition of :

  • improving pupils' emotional health, well-being and behaviour though Values-based education and MindUp
  • increasing physical activity through greater uptake of specialist sports clubs and our PE curriculum
  • promotion of healthy living through our PSHE curriculum.

We have noticed that some children have started bringing in unhealthy snacks for morning break. Can we ask you to check the following:

  • break-time snacks should be fruit only (this is provided for children in Early Years and key-stage 1)
  • lunchboxes should be balanced, click here for ideas: Change4Life

We know that some families like to celebrate  birthdays by sharing treats with the class. If you would like to do this, treats should be brought in after-school  and can be given out in the playground, please do not ask our teachers to do this. An alternative healthy option to this could be donating a book to the class library on your child's birthday.
