A record 597 pupils applied to start school at our Reception from September 2022. Of these, 202 parents chose Fielding as their first preference school. Ealing Council made offers of schools places to parents earlier this week.

 

This means that the school is over-subscribed again this year. The Council makes offers of places following their criteria so that places are allocated fairly. Siblings in school and distance from home to school are key factors. This year:

• 61 siblings have been offered a place, higher than previous years,
• the distance from home to school of the last offer has fallen to 0.282 miles.

 

Our class sizes in Reception, year 1 and year 2 remain fixed at 30 pupils per class as a result of infant class size legislation.

 

87 pupils in our own Nursery have received an offer of a place in Reception. Nursery admissions and Reception admissions are separate. However, we especially welcome children from our own Nursery into Reception.

 

 

Birth rates in Ealing are falling. There is a surplus of primary school places across the borough. The increase in siblings and shortening of the last offer distance are something of a surprise!

 

Parents must now accept or reject their offer of a primary school place.
