New routines to improve learning at home

Regular reading at home, including completion of Reading Record books, and completion of targeted on-line activities are the highlights of our new home learning arrangements, launched today.

"We want our home learning policy to make home learning more consistent, accessible and child led.  We value all of the enthusiastic and supportive guidance parents give to their children at home and we want to assist with this to ensure all children meet their potential.

"We have reviewed current practice in order to give a more consistent message about what is expected of children outside school and hopefully encourage more children to take responsibility for their learning.

"The policy was adapted using academic research with a mixture of on line tasks, spelling practice, regular reading and choice of curriculum tasks," explained Laura Stabler, Assistant Head teacher for Learning & Teaching.
