How we communicate with you, and some FAQs

Thank you for highlighting communication in the parent survey as both a strength and an area for us to work on. Over the next few weeks & months we will be looking at how we can continue to improve our communication with you.

You have told us that we have too many channels of communication and that you would like more individual information regarding how well your child is doing in school. We follow the Governing Board's parent/school communication charter that was put together by the Governing Board and a parent working group.

We have three main channels of communication:

1. Latest News, this published on our website and updated throughout the week, we make sure that nothing is time critical as all of the week's news is published to you at the end of each week via email in our bulletin.

2 Year Group Noticeboard, this is where you will find information that is relevant to your child's year group. This is updated frequently by class teachers.

3. Direct email, we use this if we need to communicate something to just you, for instance if it is about your child's class or your child, or a reply to an email you have sent us.

We know different people like to receive information in different ways, so our other methods of communication are a copy of what gets published in Latest News.

  • twitter,  Facebook and MCAS alerts are a live feed of Latest News articles as they are published.
  • Microsoft Teams is used for remote teaching, this is not a communication channel for parents.
  • PTFA WhatsApp groups are not official channels pf school communication, these are linked to PTFA events & communication.

Any general questions about school routines or events, for teachers or the admin team or any other member of staff should be directed to the admin email address so that we can quickly direct it to where it needs to go admin@fielding.ealing.sch.uk

There is a huge amount of information on our website. Which at times probably feels overwhelming, especially when trying to find information quickly. I have put together a short FAQ document with some of the most common questions we are asked, along with a direct link to the relevant page on our website:

Our communication charter is quite old! If you would like to help is develop this further, please send me an email at admin@fielding.ealing.sch.uk
