487 pupils applied to start school at our Reception from September 2024. Of these, 183 parents chose Fielding as their first preference school. Ealing Council made offers of schools places to parents earlier this month.

 

This means that the school is over-subscribed again this year. The Council makes offers of places following their criteria so that places are allocated fairly. Siblings in school and distance from home to school are key factors. This year:

• 44 siblings applied and have been offered a place, lower than previous years, reflecting a general fall in the birth rate in Ealing and London
• the distance from home to school of the last offer has risen to 0.410 miles.

 

Our class sizes in Reception, year 1 and year 2 remain fixed at 30 pupils per class as a result of infant class size legislation.

 

89 pupils in our own Nursery - the highest ever - have received an offer of a place in Reception. Nursery admissions and Reception admissions are separate. However, we especially welcome children from our own Nursery into Reception.
