Retirement after 30 years dedication to Fielding

Jean Lewis, Years 1 & 2 Teaching Assistant has decided to retire at the end of this school year.

Jean has worked at Fielding for 30 years, starting work as a lunchtime supervisor at Fielding Middle School. Jean has changed roles several times during her career with us. Many former pupils will remember Jean from her role as Welfare Assistant, when they spent time being looked after by her in the Medical Room. As the school expanded in size, Jean moved to become a teaching assistant, finally leaving her lunchtime supervisor role in September 2016.

Highlights of Jean’s career include welcoming boy-band ‘Take That’ to film on the school field with Fielding’s Touch Rugby team in January 1992 and hosting Prime Minister, Tony Blair’s visit in March 1999. Other memorable events for Jean include school trips, ‘Pirate Day’ and surviving several Ofsted inspections!

We wish Jean every happiness in her retirement. Jean’s vacant post will not be replaced.
