Thank you for your responses to the Annual Parent Survey

This year we had a huge response rate with 480 families families responding,  representing 613 pupils.

We are delighted that our main strengths have been positively recognised by parents. The Governing Body and school leaders will begin to consider the areas for improvement over the next few months. We also recognise that some parents have highlighted other individual strengths and areas for development. Your comments will be shared in full with the Governing Board. For now I have provided a summary of your responses.

 

402 families told us the about the things they like most about Fielding, the top 10 area are: 

  • Teaching and learning including the academic standards that we set (57 responses)
  • Our teaching team, including teachers and other adults in school (47 responses)
  • Values-based education, including, our welcoming, friendly ethos (42 comments)
  • Our pastoral care, focus on pupil wellbeing and expectations for behaviour. (40 comments)
  • Our child care provision (29 comments)
  • Our extra curricular offer including opportunities for sport, music, cooking and gardening, (28 comments)
  • Overall organisation and leadership of the school (21 comments)
  • Expectations and aspirations for our pupils (14 comments)

352 families told us about the things we need to do better, the top 10 things are:

  • Communication, majority recognised this has improved but would like to see it more streamlined, some would like more communication with teachers, others more communication about progress. (88 comments)
  • Clubs, including availability and booking arrangements (66 comments)
  • Catering (19 comments)
  • more academic challenge (16 comments)
  • Our sports offer, to make it more equitable and encourage those who aren't sporty (14 comments)
  • Learning to be more fun (14 comments)
  • More arts and craft and creative activities (14 comments)
  • More tailored support for those who struggle with their learning (10 comments)
  • Managing behaviour and bullying (10 comments)
  • Communication about COVID and changes (9 comments)
