Use of front entrance lobby after school

A small but increasing number of pupils and adults have been using the lobby area at the main entrance of the school as a meeting point, for the toilet and as a late pick-up point.  The main entrance to the school and lobby area is primarily for use by parents for face-to-face queries; for staff as their main entrance and exit; to welcome and screen visitors to our school and for ad-hoc collection and drop-off of pupils.  Therefore:

  • pupils should use toilets in year group areas before or at home time collection;
  • at collection, adults must meet pupils at exit doors and/or make arrangements to meet other siblings at named exit doors;
  • if adults are late for collection, pupils wait with class teachers up until 3.40pm and then are taken to our after-school club where children will be looked after and parents charged a fee.
  • the entrance to reception area cannot facilitate buggies or prams. These must be kept out side at all times.

There is no need for pupils to be in the lobby area unless they are with an adult who has popped into the office for a brief face-to-face query or planned meeting.
