Values Baccalaureate award update

At Fielding Primary School, we are proud of our Values-based Ethos that under pins all that we do. To further develop our children’s use of Values, we have developed our Fielding Values Baccalaureate. This was modified this year after our Values action pupil group designed three levels that meant the children had to gradually apply their Values in more depth. This is aimed at Years 4-6 pupils and further guidance and the task sheets can now be found on the Values page of the website.

We are now particularly excited to announce the very first recipient of the Silver level of the Fielding Values Baccalaureate: Hassan in 6S.

Hassan has worked tirelessly during Autumn term to earn his Values Baccalaureate. His tasks have included:

  • Preparing and cooking a meal for his family
  • Reading to a Reception child
  • Using his tolerance and friendship to teach his younger cousin to play chess
  • Giving a gift and showing friendship to an elderly neighbour
  • Visiting both a mosque and a church to experience something new and respect the differences and similarities between religions
  • Volunteering in school for 5 hours through his role of School Librarian.

Hassan has been so engaged with achieving his silver level and shared his enjoyment of it by saying: “I liked the Values Baccalaureate as I liked helping other people and it has also helped me to be a better person inside and outside school.”

He recommends other children do it as, “It’s really cool because it means people can get more into Values.”

Hassan is a true role model for our Values-based Education and his evidence for his tasks will be used to inspire other children. He is now starting to work towards his Gold level. Please see link below to get going. We are aware of other children working towards the Silver level and can’t wait to see who achieves it next.
