Pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 at Fielding will be celebrating World Book Day early with a virtual author visit from Lisette Auton- is a northern disabled writer, activist, poet, novelist, spoken-word artist, actor, film and theatre-maker, and creative practitioner. She's an award-winning poet who has performed at Northern Stage, ARC, the Southbank Centre and the Sage, in pubs, in a crypt, at festivals, indoors, outdoors, on a bridge and in a launderette. THE SECRET OF HAVEN POINT is her debut novel.

During the 45 minute virtual visit that will take place at 10:30am on Friday 25th February, pupils can expect:

  • A beautifully atmospheric, magical and accessible event by Lisette inspired by the rugged North East coast
  • To meet the Wreckling characters
  • To participate in a wild and interactive activity inspired by the depths of the sea
  • To listen to an enchanting reading from The Secret of Haven Point
