On Thursday 23rd November, Fielding took part in the Boccia competition at Villiers High School. We entered two teams, one consisting of Year 3 & 4 and one with Year 5 & 6. There was a lot of excitement as this was the first time some of the children had gone out of school to represent Fielding in a competition and they were eager to get started.

In the Year 3 & 4s first game, we lost 5-0 to Oaklands but managed to show great resilience in the next match drawing 1-1 to Hambrough with Jake (Oak) and Ryszard (Oak) making some great defensive shots to knock Hambrough’s balls away from the Jack ball, keeping us in the game. In the final group game, we managed to secure victory with a 2-1 win over Beaconsfield with Millie (3P) and Dottie (3S) playing some great shots, finishing 3rd in our group.

In the Year 5 & 6 league, we started off extremely well with a 2-0 win over Dormers Wells, with some great shots made from both Freya (5P) and Lani (5F). Our second game was against Clifton and it was a very close game with excellent shots being made by Quinn (6S) and Jacob (5F) which kept the game in our hands and allowed us to win 2-1. Our final group game was against Acton Gardens, we knew that we had qualified from our group at this point, but we still went after the win. After a few defensive shots from Acton Gardens, making it difficult for us, they eventually went on to win the game 3-0. Moving into the Quarter Finals, we faced Selbourne and took an early lead with a fantastic shot from Isaiah (5S). Selbourne were trying to get back into the game and managed to knock our ball out of the way and with their next two shots took the lead with the score ending 3-0.
