Dear parents,

First of all, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you for all your hard work and support. This year was a record breaking fundraising year. The PTFA raised an incredible £44,000, which is the highest amount raised in 24 years.

That money has paid for the outstanding facilities, trips and opportunities that our children all enjoy including £21,000 for the new kitchen garden, £7,000 for the nursery sandpit as well as schools trips, new library books etc.

Thanks to your constant support, Fielding’s facilities are the envy of other schools and we should be incredibly proud of the tireless efforts by our hardworking group of parents.

But unfortunately many of those dedicated members are now moving on and a number of PTFA trustees will stand down at the PTFA AGM on Monday 1 October.

We are looking for a new co-chair or vice-chair, a treasurer and two vice-treasurers and a secretary. These roles must be filled if we are to retain our charitable status (job specs attached).

There are also a number of new opportunities this year. We are launching 15 new roles including Events Coordinators, Class List Administrator, Eco Coordinator, Xmas Fair Coordinator, Summer Fair Coordinator, Designers, Stores Manager, and Communications Coordinator amongst others.

We know there are parents that work full or part-time and have considerable constraints on their time, but even a small amount of time or help would be beneficial. None of these roles require prior experience or skills, but if you do have a particular skill we would love to hear from you.

Even if you are unable to volunteer, please come along to show your support at our AGM on Monday 1 October at 7.30pm in the School Hall.

We would love to hear your ideas, feedback and suggestions on fundraising and how future revenue should be spent. It is also an opportunity to hear about some of the exciting new events we have planned.

As a result of the Data Protection rules, we made the change last year to ClassList as the principal way of communicating with parents.

We would encourage all parents to sign up to this so we can keep you up-to-date with the latest events. Through ClassList, we send out regular updates on PTFA activities at Fielding and the app also allows you to get to know fellow parents in your class.

We will shortly be launching early-bird ticket sales through ClassList so it really does pay to sign up.
