Year 3&4 Athletics team claim 2nd place in competition

Today 4 schools competed on the Fielding school field for the first ever Fielding Sport Partnership Year 3&4 Athletics competition. A Fielding athletics team were joined by teams from St. Mark's, Edward Betham and Holy Family in a competition which would see them compete in tho 60m, 150m, 450m, shotput, javelin, long jump and 75m relay.

 

It was fantastic afternoon of sport with athletes from all four school impressing in each event. At the end of the afternoon the Fielding team were very pleased to hear that they had some individual success in the the competition. We had bronze medals in the boys javelin for Josh and the girls long jump for Oleena. We had silver medals in the boys javelin for Charlie C, the boys shotput for Toby and Charlie B, and the boys 450m for Charlie B. We also had some gold medals for the boys long jump for Archie, the girls javelin for Sophie, the girls 60m for Oleena and the boys 150m for Archie. We were also very happy that our mixed relay team of Archie, Roquan, Sophie and Oleena won their event to claim another gold medal each.

 

At the end of the afternoon of competition all of the points were added up to determine which team had won overall. The Fielding team did very well to finish in 2nd place and although they were very proud about that they are also determined to try to go one better when they are in Year 5! The winners of today's competition was St. Mark's and so congratulations must go to them. Well done to everybody who competed today you were all brilliant!
