The annual PTFA AGM is being held on Monday 7 October. We'll be covering how activities over the last year have raised a record breaking amount.
More importantly we'll be showcasing some of the projects the PTFA have funded, alongside the project we feel we should support in the next 12 months. Please come along and let us know how you want our fundraising money spent.
We are also looking to fill a number of places on the committee. These include an events coordinator and a co-secretary. even if you are new to volunteering there is plenty of guidance from the rest of the team. We'll happily explain the roles in more detail either face-to-face or via fieldingPTFA@gmail.com
As a thank you to everyone who helped support our fundraising effort over the last year, we are holding a drinks reception before the PTFA AGM on Monday 7 October). Please come along (in the School Hall) and congratulate ourselves on raising over £52,000. The wine has been donated by Patri - for which we are very grateful. Hot and soft drinks will also be available.
Earlier this week 90 pupils from years 2, 3, 4 and 5 were trained to be either a Playground Friend or Peer Mediator.
The children selected applied for the positions demonstrating their enthusiasm to the role, which involves using some of their lunch play time to help other pupils in school, and supporting the Playworker staff who supervise lunchtime play.
Playground Friends
The Playground Friends team is made up of children from years 2 and 3. The role of Playground Friends is to help children in the playground through play. Children who completed the training playing were taught playground games and activities that can be played without equipment, and how to work with children of different ages who may be struggling to find someone to play with.
Peer Mediators
Pupils in the Peer Mediator team are from years 4 and 5. They will work Key stage 1 and Key stage 2 playgrounds and help to resolve friendship problems by using the mediation skills they have learned during their training.
Both groups will be easy to identify that they are available to help other pupils by wearing either a Blue “Playground Friend” or Yellow “Peer Mediator” cap while on duty.
