  • Could you make a donation to the school?

    Fri 29 Sep 2023 Peter Dunmall

    Around 100 families make a regular donation to the school each month. Since welcoming donations in June 2021, parents have donated a total of £89,048 directly to the school.

    Donations make a difference. Every £1 donated is spent back on pupils, offering them more from our school. Parents' donations help fund:

    • extra support staff for Reception classes;
    • new librarian post so that our books are better kept and promoted to pupils, helping instil a life-long love of reading;
    • the complete relaying of the school field, giving all pupils the chance of PE, sport, games and play on a large, open green space;
    • planting of 18 new trees to give natural shade during summer months.

    Since the introduction of free school meals for all pupils, some parents tell us that they want to donate more to the school. However, we are also mindful of the rising cost of living.

    There is a fine balance between sharing this information, reminding those who want to make a voluntary donation while not putting any expectation on those families who do not want to make a voluntary donation.

    If more families make a regular donation of £10 per month, we can keep offering our pupils the best education we can. If you would like to start making a regular, voluntary donation to the school, please contact us for our bank details:

    Donations may also be made to the school's PTFA. The PTFA is a charity and claims Gift Aid on direct contributions:

  • PTFA Reminder: Drinks Reception and AGM Mon 2 Oct

    Thu 28 Sep 2023 PTFA

    The annual PTFA AGM is being held on Monday 2 October. We'll be showcasing some of the projects the PTFA have funded, alongside confirming a calendar of events for the next 12 months. Please come along and let us know what you think!

    We ask that a class rep from each class attend the meeting if they can, but any parent/carer is free to attend to find out more about what we do.  The meeting kicks off at 8.30pm in the Sports Hall at Fielding Primary School and should last no longer than 60mins.  We'll have drinks available too.

    We rely on volunteers to run the PTFA and the majority have full time jobs. We understand these are tough times, but if you believe in helping enrich the education of our children and have even a small amount of time (30mins a week), we are on the lookout for some parents to help support central activities. Even if you are new to volunteering there is plenty of guidance from the rest of the team. We'll happily explain the roles in more detail either face-to-face or via fieldingPTFA@gmail.com

  • Pupils raise over £1300 at Ealing Mini Mile

    Thu 28 Sep 2023 PTFA

    Well done to all Fielding pupils that took part in the Ealing Mini Mile on Saturday 23 September. Thirteen classes decided that they wanted to raise money for Fielding Primary School PTFA and we are pleased to say that over £1300 was raised as a result. A special mention to 2H who raised over £700 alone and for 6H for setting up a Fielding Gazebo.

    For those that didn't attend, it was a wonderful atmosphere and a great sense of community. Overall feedback has been that many pupils beat previous records - which is amazing to hear! Tickets sell out fast for this event, so if you are interested in your children taking part in 2024 look out for the launch in Feb 2024 - we'll try to remind everyone.

  • 1st Place to our KS2 Bowling team!!!

    Tue 26 Sep 2023 Natasha Pasha

    Today Fielding took 1 team to a Tenpin Bowling Competition at Tenpin in Acton. The Competition was hosted by the Featherstone Sports Partnership & Panathlon Challenge team.

    We had 6 bowlers who were each trying to bowl as many strikes and spares as possible to be awarded Hotshot of the competition. After everyone had completed their game of bowling, scores were added up and each team had an average score calculated.

    We were very pleased to find out we finished 1st place out of 13 schools.  As a result of our win, Fielding will be going through to the finals at the West London Bowling finals.

    A massive congratulations to Alex B (5F) who was awarded the Hotshot of the competition as she scored the most strikes and spares in the entire competition.

    I am also delighted to announce that Martina (5S) scored 112 and Laila (6S) scored 104 points and is part of the Panathlon 100 club.

    A huge well done to all our bowlers today, you were all fantastic!

    Thank you to the following children:

    Millie (3P), Aron (3P), Louis (4P), Martina (5S), Alex (5F), Laila (6S)

  • Small building works during term-time

    Thu 21 Sep 2023 Peter Dunmall

    Small building maintenance works will take place during term and holiday time this year. A range of different contractors will complete a range of different jobs. The school will operate safely while these works take place.

    Building surveyors, commissioned by Ealing Council, work with us to help identify maintenance works to keep the school buildings in a good state of repair. We are working though a range of recommendations, from renewing the chimney stack on the School House building, repairing damaged window sills to replacing cracked window panes. No works are urgent or pose a safety concern.

    Larger or more risky jobs will take place during school holidays. During term-time, there might be minor disruption to a pedestrian route or a low level of construction noise.
