  • 12 - 0 Victory for Year 5 & 6 Girls Football team vs Hobbayne Primary

Tue 30 Jan 2024 Natasha Pasha

In a dominating display of skill and teamwork, our Year 5 & 6 Girls' football team secured a resounding victory against Hobbayne Primary School with a amazing score line of 12-0.

From the opening whistle, Fielding asserted their dominance on the field, showcasing exceptional ball control, strategic plays, and clinical finishing.

The girls displayed remarkable coordination and communication, moving fluidly across the pitch and creating numerous goal-scoring opportunities. The team's attacking prowess was evident as they consistently breached Hobbayne Primary's defense, capitalising on their opponent's defensive lapses.

Standout performances from key players contributed to our impressive goal tally.

    Coco x 5 goals

    Flo G x 4 goals

    Qamara x 1 goals

    Own goals x 2

Our goalkeeper Adelaide in 6S and the defenders Emily 6S, Alice 5S, Miral 5H, Darcy 6P and Lois 5P all exhibited solid defensive skills, preventing Hobbayne from mounting any significant threat. Well done Adelaide for maintaining a clean sheet! In contrast, the midfielders Daisy 5P and Qamara 5S, orchestrated the team's movements, while the forwards Coco 5P and Flo G 6S demonstrated remarkable precision in front of goal.

The victory not only highlights the girls' prowess on the football pitch but also emphasises the dedication and hard work put in by the team.

    Special Thanks to...

    Qamara 5S, Flo G 6S, Coco 5P, Darcy 6P, Emily 6S, Miral 5H, Lois 5P, Daisy 5P, Adelaide 6S, Alice 5S

  • Boys PEAL Shield vs Hobbayne

Fri 26 Jan 2024 Mr Francis

Today, the boys Performance team played Hobbayne in the PEAL Shield. The game was played on the field and this was the first time hosting on it since the new grass had been laid.

The boys got off to a fierce start, controlling the ball well and a high number of passes inside Hobbayne’s area. Zain (6P) and Oscar (6P) linked up well down the right hand side, with Oscar (6P) having a great shot hit off the crossbar, just inches from going in the back of the net. Matt (6S) was making multiple runs in behind Hobbayne’s midfield with some key passes down the left hand side, creating goal scoring opportunities. Yaqoob (6S) demonstrated quick feet and after dribbling past 2 defenders was so unlucky not to score. The boys were on top in the game and cold feel the goal coming and shortly after it did with Ahmed (6F) slotting the ball into the goal. With spirits lifted and getting the first goal, Fielding searched for the second and this followed with a number of good chances. Shortly before half time, their efforts were rewarded with a second goal and another for Ahmed (6F).

At half time, we were very unlucky to go in only 2 goals up but the boys were confident and knew we just needed to play the same way again.

The game started very much like the first half, with Fielding dominating the ball and creating a number of chances, Sev (6S) almost scored from a corner, only for Hobbayne to make a goal-line clearance. With Rory’s (5S) trickery on the ball, he skipped past the defender to pick out a great pass to Zain (6P) who played it into Tem (6F) who managed to dribble past his defender with precision but his shot only just missed. The football displayed was high quality and this was helped by Charlie (6H) posing as a calming influence in goal but also his distribution and range of passing to start attacks from the back, with a pinpoint pass through Hobbayne’s midfield that nearly resulted in a goal. The third goal came after a deflection off a Hobbayne defender resulting in an own goal. Daniel (6F) showed great defensive awareness to win the ball, stopping a counterattack and went on to dribble and shoot, only just hitting it over the crossbar. The fourth and final ball came after Ahmed (6F) showed amazing determination to close down the goalkeeper, win the ball and score.

    Final Score: 4-0

Goal Scorers - Ahmed x 3, Own goal

Well done to all the boys for today’s performance and result!

    Congratulations to..

    Charlie (6H), Sev (6S), Matt (6S), Zain (6P), Daniel (6F), Rory (5S), Yaqoob (6S), Oscar (6P), Ahmed (6F), Tem (6F).

  • Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 Sitting Volleyball

Fri 26 Jan 2024 Mr Francis

Yesterday, Thursday 25th January, Fielding took 2 teams to Featherstone High School to take part in a Sitting Volleyball competition.

This was a new sport and opportunity for many of the children as they had never seen it or played it before. Children had to play in teams of 6 and remain seated throughout the game. The aim was to work as a team and hit the ball over the net to score a point, with the team that gets 10 points first or is leading after the time had finished, winning the game.

    Year 3 & 4 Results

    Vs West Acton – 2:10

    Vs St Johns – 4:10

    Vs Tudor Primary – 3:10

    Vs John Perryn – 5:10

    Vs Clifton Primary – 7:10

    Year 5 & 6 Results

    Vs Hambrough – 5:10

    Vs Dormers Wells – 5:10

    Vs West Acton – 4:10

    Vs John Perryn – 6:10

    Vs Featherstone Primary – 10:9

Unfortunately, neither the Year 3 & 4 or Year 5 & 6 teams were able to make it through to the quarter finals, despite their determination and efforts but with each game they all showed improvement and got better. They also demonstrated fantastic resilience and teamwork, supporting each other throughout the competition which was so great to see. Well done to them all!

    Congratulations to the following children..

    Millie (3P), Araiya (4P), Elisa (4P), Oscar (4P), Alivia (4S), Reni (6H), Dylan (6H), Amelia (5F), Nina (6P), Tintin (5H), Laila (6S)

  • Has your child had their MMR vaccination? Measles cases are rising

Fri 26 Jan 2024 Peter Dunmall

Ealing's leaders of children's health are highlighting a rise in measles cases as a result of too few children being vaccinated. Please:

    • check your children's immunisation record
    • get vaccinated, if needed
    • check that you know the symptoms of measles
    • avoid sending your child to school if they have a temperature of over 38oC

Please see full details from Anna Bryden, Director of Public Health, Ealing Council, below.

In the last few weeks there has been an increase in the number of cases of measles in north-west London, including a few among Ealing children. Measles is extremely infectious and can cause serious illnesses, including pneumonia and meningitis.

    Immunisation

Make sure your child gets two MMR vaccines on time; the first at 1 year old and the second at 3 years, 4 months. Having both doses gives long lasting protection against measles, mumps, and rubella. You can find more information about the MMR vaccine on the NHS website or if you have any questions or worries about vaccinations, here’s a video link that helps explain them.

If you or your child missed these vaccines, it’s not too late. Ask for a free vaccine from your family doctor (GP) if you or your children aren’t up to date. If you are unsure if your child is up to date with all their routine immunisations, please check their ‘red book’ (personal child health record) or contact your GP practice. Your GP or practice nurse will be able to review your child’s immunisation status and answer questions about immunisation.

    Symptoms of measles

If you have symptoms of measles, stay at home and phone your GP or NHS 111 for advice. Stay away from GP surgeries and A&E departments – you could spread the illness to others.

Symptoms include: high fever; sore, red, watery eyes; coughing; aching and feeling generally unwell; and a blotchy red brown rash, which usually appears after the first symptoms.

Please note that when children are feeling unwell, most of the time, they can still attend school, and should be encouraged to do so. It is usually appropriate for parents and carers to send their children to school with mild respiratory illnesses. This would include general cold symptoms: a minor cough, runny nose or sore throat.

However, children should not be sent to school if they have a temperature of 38oC or above. If you are unsure, please seek advice by calling NHS 111 or your GP.

    Contact with a measles case

The UK Health Security Agency will be notified of all cases of measles and advise on the public health management including contact tracing. Please note that if your child has not had one dose of MMR vaccine and someone else in the same house gets measles, they will not be able to go to school for 21 days after contact with the infected person (the time infection can take to develop).

For more information on measles, please go to the NHS website
