  • New Anti-bullying policy

    Fri 20 Sep 2019 L. Stabler

At Fielding Primary School, we want all children to feel safe and listened to and ensure they are all taught how to act kindly and fairly. To support this, we have updated our Anti- bullying policy so it has clear guidance of what bullying is and the different forms. The policy also clearly demonstrates how adults in school are to respond to any reports of bullying. Please see the policy section of website for more details.

  • Health Related Behaviour Survey Years 4 and 6

    Fri 20 Sep 2019

Health Related Behaviour Survey Years 4 and 6

Every two years, in Years Four and Six, we are asked to take part in Ealing’s Health Related Behaviour survey. This is a confidential survey that is used to gain children’s views on a range of health behaviour including:

    Home and family                       Health

    Healthy Eating                           Feelings

    Bullying                                     Alcohol

    Physical activity                         Smoking

    Leisure time                              Growing up

This survey will be carried out during classes’ computing slots over the next two weeks starting from Monday 23rd September. There will be a brief introduction to the children in class, where the purpose and style of the survey will be explained. The actual survey should not take longer than one hour to complete.

Please see the Year Four and Year Six year group notice boards to see the  letter from Ealing explaining the survey further.

  • REMINDER: PTFA Meeting - Monday 23 September (9am and 8.30pm)

    Thu 19 Sep 2019

Just a reminder to all parents that the first PTFA meeting of the academic year is on Monday 23 September.  This meeting will welcome new parents, thank any outgoing class reps and give an overview of the successful events of last year - which raised nearly £50,000.  Importantly we aim to set the events calendar for the 2019/2020 academic year and discuss the structure of the committee in advance of the upcoming AGM (which is on 7 October).

The meeting will be repeated twice during the day. The morning meeting is in the school house after morning drop-off (9.00am) and the evening meeting, also in the school house, at 8.30pm. All parents are welcome to join us at one of these meetings and it would be great if at least one class rep from each class is able to attend one of these meetings to ensure we get as much feedback on the calendar as possible.
The morning meeting is accompanied by tea and coffee. The evening meeting is accompanied by a glass of wine and it would be great for parents to stay for a drink or two after the meeting. It is a great opportunity to meet other parents especially if you are new to the school. We look forward to seeing you there!

  • Termly safeguarding assembly

    Thu 19 Sep 2019

Termly Safeguarding assembly for children in Years 1-6

During assemblies on Monday 23rd September we will be talking to the children about how to keep themselves safe. We will help the children understand that it is their right to be happy and safe and to encourage the understanding that any problem or worry that they may have is legitimate, and to share their worries – big or small – with their trusted adult; at home, at school, or with ChildLine.

The assemblies will be led by Mr Dunmall and Mrs Haines and the content delivered in a sensitive and age appropriate way.

During the assembly will we aim to give children:

    • An understanding of different forms of abuse, including bullying, and an ability to recognise the signs of harm or abuse
    • Knowledge of how to protect themselves from all forms of abuse
    • An awareness of how to get help and sources of help, including ChildLine.

Click on the link below to see the content of Monday’s assembly, you may wish to look at this in advance, in case your child has any questions.

  • Reception playground wins national award

Fri 13 Sep 2019 Peter Dunmall

Lockwood Landscapes Ltd, our design and build contractor for the Reception playground, has won the BALI National Landscape Award for schools and communities development 2019.

The British Association of Landscape Industries' (BALI) awards recognise the skills, hard work, quality, commitment and success of it's members.

Mr Webb worked with the Reception team to draft a design and brief to meet the learning needs of our pupils outdoors.  Lockwood included all of Mr Webb's ideas and transformed a tired, underused area of our school site into the superb outdoor space for our pupils.

We are delighted that Lockwood's work has been recognised by BALI.
