Keep up to date with all the news happening in the school at the moment. Articles are added during the week. Parents are encouraged to check regularly. Our weekly bulletin, emailed directly to parents, summarises content for the week.
We have had a very busy end to the term with our sports teams at Fielding and so feel we need a small recap to celebrate all that has been happening over the past few weeks.
On the 15th March, we took two teams of Year 5 and 6 gymnasts to compete in the Featherstone Gymnastics competition at Featherstone High School. In only our second year of entering the competition the A team finished in 2nd place and the B team in 4th place! The A team qualified for the Borough Finals as a result.
On Thursday 21st March, we took both of our Year 3 and 4 gymnastic teams to their Featherstone competition. We were excellent again and once more our A team finished in 2nd place and our B team in 4th. So again the A team qualified for Borough Finals.
On Tuesday 26th March, our Girls football team went to Redbridge Sport Centre to represent Ealing in this years London Youth Games. They competed against the best teams in London and eventually lost in the quarter finals to Bexley, the tournaments eventual winners.
On Thursday 28th March, the Quicksticks team also travelled to Redbridge to also represent Ealing in the London Youth Games. Our quicksticks teams were also fantastic and reached the quarter final stage before losing to Hillingdon.
On Friday 29th March, the Year 3 and 4 Netball team competed in our own Fielding Sport Partnership competition at Fielding. They played games against 4 other schools and ended the day in 3rd place.
On Monday 1st April, the boys football team and girls football team both had semi final matches to play in the Peal Shield and RSK cup respectively. The boys beat Edward Betham 2-0 to reach the Peal Shield Final and the girls beat St. Vincent's 4-0 to reach the RSK Cup final.
On Tuesday 2nd April, our Year 3 and 4 gym team and our Year 5 and 6 gym team took part in Borough finals at Ellen Wilkinson School. Both performed really well and finished as 2nd best teams in the Borough in their age groups.
Finally, on Thursday 4th April we took 2 teams of Year 5 and 6 tennis players to West Middlesex Tennis Club for this years Featherstone competition. The B team won their development league! The A team lost in the final in the main competition but qualify for Borough Finals after Easter.

We are extremely proud of all of our athletes for the hard work and dedication they have put in to prepare themselves for these competitions. They really are a credit to the school when we go out! We can all now look forward to a well earned break! See you after Easter!
From the start of Summer term, we will be focussing on the introduction and use of our new four Fielding core values. These four core values are:
The first of these to be introduced and focussed on is respect. Children across the whole school will be focussing on this value in April, considering what this looks like in school and at home. Children in Key stage 2 will also start considering on what this looks like locally and globally.
There will also now be a greater focus each month on what actions don't show this value as well as those actions that do. Please see our Values area for more details of our new approach to our Values-based Education and information about the value of respect.
Some parents may remember the circus that came to Fielding in 2017 with a sell out event for 600 pupils and parents.
Well, the Happy Circus is back again for 2019 with a brand new performance and this time we have booked the circus for three days!
The 'big top' will be erected on the school field with performances on Sunday 14 July, Monday 15 July and Tuesday 16 July.
Tickets will initially go sale to Fielding pupils and families for the first two performances while the third performance will be open to other schools in the area who don't have facilities to host a circus with their grounds.
Last time around, the circus raised over £3,000 for the school PTFA so by adding a couple of extra performances we hope to increase that amount.
Please save the date - just in case you had plans to attend any other circuses before then!!
As we approach the Easter break, we are all hoping for some lovely weather and a chance to get out and about. Please take the time to remind your children of how to keep safe while crossing the road and driveways, especially if they are on a bike or scooter.
Here is some useful information:
If so, they will be taking the national curriculum tests (SATs) in May. The tests will provide information about how your child is progressing, compared to children the same age nationally. The results of these assessments are used to ensure that we are teaching our pupils the essential knowledge and skills in the subjects that are the early building blocks, reading, writing and mathematics.
The DfE have provided a useful information booklet for parents. Click on the following link for further information:
If your child is in Year 6, there will be a French residential and SATS information evening on April 24th at 6.30pm.
Let us cater for all your childcare needs, come and join us for an eggciting Easter holiday.
With just a week to go until the end of term, we’d like to invite your children to join us for a fantastic range of trips and activities to keep them busy this Easter. Activities include: a trip to Hounslow Urban farm, a fun-filled day out to Northala fields adventure playground, delicious cooking activities, plus an egg hunt through Fielding Forest. This is only a snapshot of activities on offer. Places are filling up quickly, so if you do not wish to miss out and want to avoid the increased adhoc fee, book online today.
Increased adhoc fee applies from midday on Friday 5th April.
Last summer we suffered an infestation of the oak processionary moth:
This year, we have been in contact with the Council and we are organising a proactive OMP spraying to coincide with the moth caterpillar emergence this year.
The spraying is not 100% effective in all cases, however, this will limit the numbers and any large nest formations. Hopefully our forest area will stay open all year to children.
