Mme Mahvelati is going to the award ceremony on Saturday 25 November at the Institut francais in London.

The winner is selected by a national jury which considers the teacher's:

    • successful teaching at a school, including innovative language teaching and cross curricular activities,

  • 2-0 Victory to Year 5 & 6 Girls Performance Football team!

Mon 20 Nov 2023 Natasha Pasha

Today the Year 5 & 6 Girls Performance football team had their first league match against Oaklands for the Ealing Girls Cup.

On Thursday 16th November the girls had a glimpse into the standard of play from the Oaklands team as we drew in the final and went into penalties. We knew today was not going to be easy. The team's nerves were high. Oaklands players were intimated by all the school support as they were playing away.

Fielding dominated possession throughout the match but unfortunately didn't manage to get a goal at the back of the net at halftime. Oaklands definitely put a lot of pressure on their defence.

In the second half the girls were releasing the ball quicker to their teammates and Coco (5P) managed to score two goals. One from the halfway line and the second a deflection from the goalkeeper.

Adelaide maintained a clean sheet and has not conceded a goal. Fielding's defence played a major role in preventing Oaklands from scoring. This is thanks to Daisy (5P), Miral (5H), Lois (5P), Darcy (6P), Alice (5S) and Martina (5S).  Equally in an attack Flo G (6S), Coco (5P) and Qamara (5S) had great chemistry making some excellent one-two passes which supported Coco's goal.

Looking forward to our game against St Mark's on Friday.

    Special thanks to...

    Qamara (5S), Flo G (6S), Coco (5P), Darcy (6P), Miral (5H), Martina (5S), Alice (5S), Adeliade (6S), Lois (5P), Daisy (5P)

  • England Rocks - Results

Fri 17 Nov 2023 Dan Thomas

This week, Fielding took part in England Rocks national TTRS competition. There were 4357 schools that took part and the efforts of our mathematicians led to the school finishing in 2008th place, with the winning school being up in Liverpool.

Each of our 16 KS2 classes took part in the competition and the results for the school competition are also in. Congratulations to 4P who finished in 1st place with  a class average of 648 points, 4H who were 2nd with 616 points and 3F who came in 3rd with 518 points.

The girls were delighted as they made it into the FINAL against our local rival Oaklands A. During the match, we were dominating possession and had almost won the match 2-1. A minute towards the end of the game our goalkeeper came off her line and the opposition was awarded a penalty which they scored. The final score was now 2-2 at full-time. This meant one thing penalties. The teams' nerves were high. Fielding took the first penalty and scored then Oaklands took the second one which was saved by our Goalkeeper. We took our second and third penalty and scored them all therefore were crowned champions!

  • Wildlife in the garden

Thu 16 Nov 2023 Elise Laird

Autumn is never a very exciting time in the garden but, despite some very rainy days, classes have been having a productive and enjoyable time. We've been getting the garden ready for winter and recently boys in 5F and 4P have found efts (juvenille newts) in the pond. They are small and hard to spot so well done Cody and Bodhi in 5F  and Seb, Charlie, Edgar, Francis and Harvey in 4P.  A few large frogs have been spotted in the garden as well - its always exciting when the pupils find wildlife in the garden!

Parents may have noticed the colourful planters on the way into the school at the Wyndam Road entrance. A big thank you to the girls of 6S who helped to plant these after half term.

  • Reminder - Cooking curriculum contribution £12.00

    Thu 16 Nov 2023 Finance

We are very proud to provide a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to attend cooking sessions during the school day. An annual voluntary contribution of £12.00 was added to MCAS to cover the cost of ingredients. This is required to supplement the fresh ingredients provided from the school garden and covers the whole school year.

However, only 25% of parents have paid and whilst this contribution is voluntary, we cannot continue to provide opportunities such as this without your continued support.

To make a payment, please log into your MCAS account and select the 'Products' icon and then 'Voluntary Contributions' from the left hand menu.

Many thanks to those parents who have already paid.
