  • Fielding host 10 teams in Year 3 & 4 tag rugby tournament

    Wed 17 Oct 2018

Last week, nearly 100 Year 3 and 4 children from 7 different schools were on the school field representing their schools in the Fielding Sport Partnership Tag Rugby tournament. The Fielding team were excellent and made it all the way to the semi finals of the competition. The eventual winners were Holy Family who beat St. Mark's in a very entertaining final.

Well done to all of the children who took part in the tournament, we saw Fielding school values being shown everywhere! Check out the PE page for a full report.

  • Reception to Year 5 Flu Vaccinations

    Wed 17 Oct 2018

This vaccination programme is in place to help protect your child against flu. Flu can be an unpleasant illness and sometimes causes serious complications.  Vaccinating your child will also help protect more vulnerable friends and family by preventing the spread of flu. A consent form will be sent home with your child/ren tonight or tomorrow. Please complete this form and return it to the school office by Friday 2nd November latest. Vaccinations will take place on Wednesday 14th November. We cannot take verbal permission for your child to have the vaccination.  If you have any queries, please contact the immunisation team on 01895 485740

  • Summer uniform ends

Wed 17 Oct 2018 Peter Dunmall

Optional summer uniform, blue and white gingham style dresses, are no longer worn after October half-term.  Shorts maybe worn all year round.

As the weather turns wetter, colder and in snow, school shoes should continue to be worn: boots are not part of our uniform.  Wellington boots may be worn to school with a change of shoes for during the day.  All shoes should be plain, black with no open-toe, high-heels, platforms or rollers.

Thanks to the support of our families, virtually every pupil was wearing acceptable uniform during checks at the end of Monday assemblies last week.

  • Fielding PTFA Halloween Trails

    Wed 17 Oct 2018

The first Fielding PTFA Halloween Trail will be on Wednesday 31 October straight after school (3.30-4.15pm) and a Nursery Halloween trail at lunchtime, which are both sponsored by Gardiner Residential.

The Halloween trail is straight after school and a circular route to spot alphabet letters at houses on the route, similar to our popular Easter trail. The route is a short circular route in local streets around school and those children who walk around and spot all the letters will get a treat when they arrive back at school.

We are also running a lunchtime Nursery mini trail down fielding walk to spot some pictures in the area from 12.30 until 1.30 to cover drop off and pick up.

This is a free fun event for all the school to join in. If you have any questions email fieldingptfaevents@gmail.com.

  • Reminder: Have you applied for High School September 2019?

    Fri 12 Oct 2018

Children currently in year 6 are due to transfer from primary to high school (year 7) in September 2019. Applications must be made directly to the council that you are living in at the time of application, regardless of the borough which the school is in. The deadline for applying for high school is 31 October 2018. Applications received after this date are late and will not be considered until after national offer day. The national offer day for on time applicants is 1 March 2019. If you apply online you will receive an email in the evening on 1 March confirming the school that has been offered.

Any parents/carers who need additional help completing the application, should come to the school office where a member of the Admin team can assist them.

  • Forgotten items being dropped to the school office

    Fri 12 Oct 2018
There has been an increase in the number of items being delivered to the school office during the school day which needs to be passed to children.  We would like to ask you to encourage your child to be more independent and responsible for their own belongings and to ensure they have all that is required for their school day ahead. Delivery of items to your child's class will only take place at scheduled break times. This is to minimise the disruption to your child's learning.
  • Music lessons cancellations

    Fri 12 Oct 2018

Should your child wish to discontinue with their music lessons in the Spring Term, please ensure a cancellation form is completed and returned to Jane, Finance Manager, by no later than Thursday 18th October 2018. Pupil numbers from January 2019 onwards have to be confirmed with EMS our music tutor provider and cancellations for the Spring term can unfortunately not be processed after this date.

Cancellation forms and our Music Terms & Conditions can be found here.
