    4. Batting: Wagon Wheel

  • Summer holidays chicken sitting

Fri 23 Jun 2023 Elise Laird

Would you like to do some chicken-sitting over the summer? We're looking for volunteers to feed and care for the chickens, as well as water the Kitchen Garden during many days in the summer holidays (particularly the plants in the polytunnel). You'll be able to take home any eggs and pick some ripe garden produce such as broad beans, lettuce, strawberries, raspberries, tomatoes or a variety of herbs for example.

Holiday club will be kindly doing the job for some days in the holiday, but there are lots of slots available. Volunteers pass the keys along to the next volunteer (details will be emailed) so if you'd like to do more than one day it is easiest if you do them consecutively, if you can.

An online sign-up sheet can be found here.

  • Star leader elections 2023

    Fri 23 Jun 2023 Miss L Stabler

Year 5 Star Leader hustings and elections

This week, children across the school saw the British value of democracy in action as they took part in the democratic elections for next year’s Star Leaders. The Year 5 pupils, hoping to be elected, stood up and delivered prepared speeches, explaining why they thought they would be a good candidate for the role of Star Leader, based on the job description of the role. The children’s speeches were amazing and full of detail about themselves and how they use and show the school values. Children in each class then voted for the children they wanted to be the Star Leader for each of the constellations. The votes were added together and we now have a Star Leader for each constellation in each of the 4 classes (16 in total). The children with the second highest amount of votes are now the Deputy Star Leaders (16 in total).

All of the Year 5 children taking part in the hustings were very prepared and very brave to talk in front of so many children and adults. All of the candidates are wonderful role models for other pupils, showing a wide range of our school Values.  Congratulations to all those pupils who were elected into their new leadership roles.

Please see the list of our elected leaders below. These children will start their new roles in September.

  • PTFA: Laser Tag Hall at Summer Fair

    Thu 22 Jun 2023 PTFA

Fielding PTFA are bringing something new for this year's 2023 Summer Fair.

We'll be giving the opportunity for pupils to play Laser Tag within the confines of the Sports Hall. Two teams of five will play against each other during the 10-12mins sessions held throughout the afternoon. We'll have barricades and other structures for kids to hide behind. The ultimate aim is not to get hit by the laser from the opposing team!

Sessions are by Year groups (Y1-Y6) to create an even playing field.  Sadly it is not recommended for children in Nursery or Reception.  Advanced booking is also recommended with tickets costing £4.50 and likely to sell out fast.  For more information please visit https://www.tickettailor.com/events/fieldingptfa/938437#
