On Friday 13th, the boy’s development team hosted Holy Family in a friendly coming away with an impressive 5-3 win. This was the first time that the team had played together at the school. .
We started well with some great link up play between the defence and midfield as we looked to attack. After a sustained amount of pressure, we finally got our reward as Elias (5F) scored with a deflected shot to give us the lead. We continued to control the game, however, on the break Holy Family were able to get a goal back. The boys showed great resilience as they did not let this affect them. As the end of the half was approaching and we looked for the next goal, we were fortunate enough to score two with Elias (5F) adding to his tally and Albie (6H) scoring.
At half time, we made a change with Marc (6S) coming on, who showed his composure and willingness to win every tackle. We started strong again, allowing Elias (5F) to complete his hattrick scoring his third goal. Max (5S) and James (5P) were electric as they kept running down the wings past defenders and were unfortunate not to score. Albie (6H) scored our fifth goal with a well taken volley into the top corner. As the game grew on, Holy Family kept attacking, causing Lucas (5S) to make a number of good saves. A frantic 2 minutes saw Holy Family score 2 goals resulting in a nervy end but Zain (6P), Jude (6P) and Rowan (5F) ensured with great defending and crucial blocks that we won the game.
A massive well done to…
Lucas (5S), Max (5S), James (5P), Rowan (5F), Elias (5F), Marc (6S), Albie (6H), Zain (6P), Jude (6P)
Also, thank you to all the Fielding parents who attended. Your support was heard throughout and helped massively!

Well done to all 40 runners who participated in such a huge event and showed such resilience to keep going and complete the race!
Today the Year 5 & 6 Girls Development Football Squad had their first-ever football match as a team. The girls were very excited to get started.
At the start of the game in defence, we had Ailish (6F), Joni (6H), and Laila (6S) who did a great job clearing the ball and making some great tackles. Unfortunately, Holy Family School found a gap and slipped one goal past Ella (6F) our goalkeeper. The pressure was now on the attack which was Elysia (5P), Emily (6S), and Ruth (6P) to start scoring some goals. Going into the second half changes needed to be made in an attack so Caitlyn (5P), Amy (5S) and Eliza (6H) all came on and we started to press more in the attack but somehow struggled to find the back of the net.
Finally, the final score was 10 - 0 to Holy Family when the whistle was blown at full time. The girls have learnt a lot from this game and are going to be ready for our next game.
Many thanks to all the girls who played today who showed resilience, and respect and could reflect on their own performance too!
Special Thanks to…
Ella (6F), Ailish (6F), Joni (6H), Ruth (6P), Amy (5S), Laila (6S), Caitlyn (5p), Elysia (5P) and Eliza (6H)
This week four of our Year 5 children went to North Ealing Primary School to take part in a the A.I.M. High Maths Day. The event was hosted by one of the UK's leading maths specialists, Pete Hall, and consisted of a number of exciting mathematical challenges.
Each of our budding mathematicians really enjoyed the day and were keen to share their experience.
Charley
"At the maths day, I learnt many things that I haven't learnt yet. The teacher was really fun and gave us many tricky questions. We got stuck on a few but we tried and tried and we did it!"
Emily
"It was a fun day as we got to do loads of fun maths. It was a new experience for me which I really enjoyed. I particularly liked the trick maths that we did."
Serena
"At the maths day, we did lots of fun challenges such as magic squares, riddles and fun problem solving. The leader was funny and I enjoyed it a lot, We wrote on our whiteboards and learnt very tricky and fun puzzles. I liked the shape game we played where we had to make animals with shapes."
Bruno
"At the school, the teacher was really funny and showed us lots of different maths problems. We did magic squares, ordered shapes and solved many other equations. The questions were mind-boggling and very confusing which made everyone get the answers wrong...at first"
We are hopeful that this will be the first of many maths days and competitions this year for Fielding so watch this space.
Many of our little linguists have been asking how they can do more French learning from home. Fortunately, there are many free and exciting resources out there to support the language journey of our young learners. Here are a few resources your families may enjoy using:
We hope you enjoy exploring some of these together at home!
