    Fri 16 Jun 2017

  • Girls football team out of the Peal Shield in semi finals

    Fri 16 Jun 2017

The girls football team's fantastic run in the Peal Shield unfortunately came to an end this week as the girls lost on penalties to Our Lady of the Visitation in the semi final. It was tough game which was close throughout but unfortunately we came off second best.

The game caps an excellent first full year for a Fielding girls football team though so all involved should be very proud.

Check out the PE page for the full report in the game. Any action shots of the girls in the game would be much appreciated!!

  • Fielding Marathon starts strong

    Mon 12 Jun 2017

The Fielding Marathon officially began at the start/finish line next to the pirate ship bang on 8.30am this morning. We had a brilliant turnout for our first session with so many of our mums and dads turning up for an early run with their children. I was particularly impressed by so many of our Key Stage 1 children showing up and putting in some strong performances - mums and dads were sometimes struggling to keep up!

If you came this morning you will have seen the havoc with the current 'Marathon card in the folder' system. We are going to scrap that idea and give the cards to parents and children to take home so you will need to remember to bring your card with you every time you come in order to record your run. Children will start to bring their cards home with them this week. Please help to keep them safe but encourage the children to take responsibility for their own cards.

Thank you to everybody who came this morning to make it such a good start. Spread the word and lets get even more families there next Monday. We've already had lots of the children asking about the lunchtime slots on Tuesday and Wednesday...mums and dads you will have to put in the miles in the evenings to keep up!

Happy running. See you next Monday morning.
