Fielding are very pleased to announce that we are now champions in yet another sport this year as the Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 mixed tennis teams both triumphed in the area finals on Thursday.
After a bit of controversy before play began, both teams focused on the job at hand and played some excellent tennis to be crowned Borough champions and qualify for the London Youth Games.
Check out the PE page to find out how we did it.

Year 3 & 4 French club have done a great job of getting the new KS2 French book corner, Le coin du Livre, up and running. These brand new French books are all ready and waiting to be explored and enjoyed by children across the school during their dedicated library slots. Titles include T'Choupi, Le Petit Nicolas, Les Pyjamasques, Peppa Pig, La chenille qui fait des trous as well as the Kididoc non-fiction series. Older readers can enjoy the popular French children's magazine: Astrapi.
Please see below for class teacher information for next academic year.
As last year each class will keep the same letter name, e.g 1P will become 2P, 2P will become 3P, 4F will become 5F etc.
*indicates a class has two teachers as part of a job-share.

Anne led phase assemblies during the morning and afternoon for children in Reception up to Year 6 and ended the morning and afternoon with eagerly-awaited book signings in the KS2 library. During her assemblies, pupils listened attentively whilst she talked about her writing process and roared with laughter as she read extracts from her books. Samson (RP) said, ‘That was funny to meet the person who writes the books.’ Emily (4P) said, ‘I liked finding out about why she called one of her books, ‘Nag Club.’ It was because there was a craze about bobble hats and everyone was nagging their parents to get them one.’ When asked why she became an author, Anne Fine stated, ‘I became a writer so that I could read 8 hours a day.’ Today, many children throughout the school have been seen clutching and reading a copy of one of Anne’s books.
Children in Year 4 have being working closely with their peers at Ombrosa Multilingual School in Lyon to exchange lunchtime experiences. We've been learning about one another's playgrounds, lunch halls and lunchtime routines. We've enjoyed the opportunity to reflect on the similarities and differences between this aspect of our school day. We can't wait to receive more from Ombrosa in the coming weeks!
Visit our Around the World page to see the work our two schools have been exchanging so far:
On Wednesday 21st June, Year 6 children (finalists from our own Fielding Science Fair) competed against other pupils from across Ealing in the Ellen Wilkinson Science Fair. The competition was fierce but the judges were wowed by the pupils' presentations and explanations of their science investigations. I am extremely proud to announce that Fielding took home the following awards:
1st Prize in Physics for Megan
1st Prize in Chemistry for Lily and Marina
2nd Prize in Biology for Lily and Marta
Overall Champion for Ryan and Luka
Best School for Fielding Primary School.
The Summer Fair is fast approaching. Please have a read of the attached PTFA newsletter with more information about the day, other important dates for the diary and also a round up of other events that have taken place over the Summer Term.
Last week Fielding took an A and B 5-aside football team to the APNA Youth Charity Football tournament in a bid to reclaim the trophy we won last year.
Both teams were fantastic! The B team did very well to get to the last 16 whereas the A team got all the way to the final. Check out the PE page to find out if they were successful!
